Never drive past the place you meant to stop at.

Save the places you might want to visit on a trip. While you drive, RoadtripRadar tells you when one of them is coming up, measured by road, not as the crow flies.

How it works

Save it once. Get told when it matters.

No need to plan a route or keep an eye on a map. The radar does the watching while you drive.

  1. 1

    Save the places

A viewpoint, a café, a swimming spot. Drop a pin on the map, or share a link from Apple Maps or Google Maps into the app.

  2. 2

    Start the radar

Before you set off, tap Start the radar. It keeps working in the background while you drive.

  3. 3

    Get an alert

When a saved place is within your distance or driving time by road, your phone tells you what it is and how far.

Measured by road

Close as the crow flies isn't close.

A place three kilometres away across a lake can be half an hour's drive. So the radar asks Apple Maps for the real route, and alerts on the distance and time you would actually drive.

It looks ahead in the direction you're heading, so the places you've already passed stay quiet.

  • Alert within a distance, a driving time, or both
  • Give any place its own limits
  • Watch every place, or only some categories and lists

From the maps you already use

Share a link. The place is saved.

Found somewhere in Apple Maps or Google Maps? Tap share and choose RoadtripRadar. The name and position are filled in for you, so all that's left is a category and a list.

Some links only point at a stretch of map, not a pin. Then the app says so and asks you to put the pin where the place really is, instead of saving a spot that could be a kilometre out.

Shared collections

Plan the trip together.

Make a shared collection and invite the person you travel with. Whatever either of you saves, the other sees.

The radar alerts on shared places too, even one your passenger added on their phone ten minutes ago.

And the rest

Small things that make a long drive easier.

Categories and lists

Built-in categories from viewpoints to charging, plus your own. A list for every trip.

Choose what to watch

Only after cafés and charging today? Tick the categories or lists the radar should look for.

Alerts that get through

Each alert says which place and how far, and is marked time-sensitive so iOS shows it straight away.

Links that wait

No signal when you share a link? It waits under Shared links, and the app tries again later.

No account needed

Use it on your own without signing up. Create an account only when you want to share or keep a backup.

English and Swedish

The app follows your iPhone's language.

Privacy

Your places stay yours.

Where you go is about as personal as data gets. RoadtripRadar keeps as little of it as it can.

No ads, no tracking

No analytics, no crash reporting, nothing following you across apps. Nothing is sold or shared.

Your position isn't stored

Where you are while driving is never saved, and never sent to us. Without an account, your places never leave your phone.

Delete means delete

With an account, your places are stored in Stockholm. Delete the account and they go with it.

Read the privacy policy

Never drive past it again.

RoadtripRadar is coming soon to iPhone, with Android to follow. Until then, the manual shows everything it does.
